Waste awning fabric re-purposed for Americares disaster relief tarps

The first 30 disaster relief tarps were delivered in October of 2011 and were very much appreciated by Americares Disaster relief agency.  These durable water resistant tarps were made from manufacturing waste acrylic awning fabric. The idea is that this durable long lasting fabric can provide shelter and covering for people and animals displaced by natural disasters such as the Haiti earthquake while also saving our landfills here in the U.S. Futureguard provided all the fabric from the cut off fabric saved and Awning Cleaning Inc of New Haven CT fabricated the tarps.  Awning cleaning has enough fabric for at least 30 more with lots more waste fabric on the way to them.  Hopefully t the other awning manufactures around the U.S. and even the world will begin to save fabric and make tarps for this worthwhile cause!
